Education

Our weekly Sunday School classes are designed around Bible Study and spiritual growth. There are classes for all ages from nursery through senior adults. Primary classes follow a planned curriculum.

Adult classes choose their own studies with support from the Education Committee of Session. Currently, the Kitchen and Happy Hour classes tend towards contemporary topics. The Discovery class is a concentrated Bible study.

Children are encouraged to participate in the worship service. There is a Childrens Time for those age 8 and under with a mini-sermon by the pastor after which they may attend Childrens Church; a program led by an adult which continues their learning experience through Bible stories and creative projects.

During the summer vacation period, there is a lively Bible School program which brings the Scriptures to life through study, music, creative and physical activities.

As we seek to learn and grow as Christians, it is important to continue our journey of faith through education of, and participation in, the sacraments.

Presbyterian Church of the Resurrection celebrates two sacraments: Baptism and Communion.
Baptisms for adults and children are celebrated with great joy and are shared with congregation, family and friends.  Members are asked to pledge support for the newly baptized, to love and nurture their growth in Christian faith.

Communion is generally observed on the first Sunday of each month with  congregants being served in the pews by members of Session.  On special occasions, Communion may be celebrated by intinction.

There are a number of times during the year when special communions are observed: to prepare ourselves for the coming Lenten season, sharing with all other Christians around the globe on World Communion Sunday, and as part of our Christmas Eve service.
